A Request

If you have been following this blog, please take a moment, if you haven't, and add a comment for our team using the comment feature at the bottom of this post. We would love to know who has been following our efforts. Also, if you feel motivated to donate some money to Gales Creek in support of our effort, every little bit helps, directions are on our website. www.jtrracing.com. Thanks for all your comments, prayers and encouraging words, as cliche as it might sound, they really did keep us going as this all unfolded. This blog will stay active for another few weeks so driver teams, and chase crew can add stories from Baja.

Thanks.

Rod

I know it is disappointing to have to drop out, but you all have done a wonderful job. This has been an experience of a lifetime that you will never forget. (Us folks back in Oregon won't either!) Just know that you gave it your best shot.

It was so exciting to read about your progress over the last three days. I was in tears several times over the reports and blogs. It is amazing that you made it more than 1100 miles in the toughest race on the planet. In the process you showed courage, strength, faith and love. It is character that counts when the race is run. I am so very proud of all of you. Pastor Ron

What an exciting couple of days for us here at All Family Vision Care. We really were pulling for you and even had a map on the wall tracking your progress with a bright yellow highlighter all the way. It was hard to pay attention to our patients but they were just as thrilled as we were when we told them that Chris's hubby was in the most grueling desert race on the planet! I am so glad you all had the guts to do this, it's very inspiring to know that a bunch of 'regular Joes' and 'Josies', had the courage to go all the way!

Best regards, and we all hope you do it again next year!

Warmly,

The Staff at All Family Vision Care

We have been following you several times a day, both on the map and blog. We are sorry it had to end before the finish line, but WOW! What an adventure! We are so glad you were able to do this. We are excited to hear some more stories! Hope you have a good trip home.

Nikki, Rod, and the rest of the team- WOW!! What a great run!! I'm so proud of all of you!! You are all truly inspiring!! What a great team effort to put this all together, not just the racing, but all of the planning, building, and coordinating that came before. For those of you who know my Mike- he said, "What? Only about a hundred or some miles to go? Couldn't they PUSH it?" Great work you guys! Love and SMILES to all for a job well done!!!

I am so proud of you all!! It was so exciting to get minute by minute udates. Although I wasn't there, I felt alot. I had teachers and other co-workers jumping on the computer and logging on. Comments that people had a hard time expressing knowing where you all started and the challenge you took on and the many challenges along the way. They were in amazement. I have a janiter at one of the schools, who asked if I would take donations as his mother and sister both were afflicted with diabetes and is "close to home" for him. He is busy collecting money now. carla

What a ride! I am so proud of all of you. It has been such a great experience to follow your arduous quest and see you do it so well. Such fun to check the blogs throughout the day, to be part of your triumphs over adversity and your acceptance of the good and the bad that came your way. Am so disappointed for you to be so close to your goal and be forced to abandon the race. This can't detract from your well-deserved kudos for a great team effort, your never-say-die attitude and all your hard work and the hours you put in to make this dream a reality. A resounding hip, hip, hooray for the JTR Team.

To all involved with 302.
The Duhaldes, The Carrys and Grannie want to congratulate you on an amazing accomplishment. My sister(Dolly) and I would call eachother just to see if the other had read the latest on JTR. It was to much fun to follow along with your progress. Waking the boys up early in the morning so they can hear how the team had done throughout the night and where their dad is today! Thanks for putting this blog stuff together, like I said, it has been just to much fun!
I am a first time blogger, and I'm proud to admitt it! If my thoughts count the least, YOUR WINNERS IN MY BOOK, Isn't it called the "BAJA 1000"? Last time I checked they wern't calling it the "BAJA 1250"!!

So dam happy everyone is safe.

Miss you Gabey xoxo Jilly and the boys!!

Hi everyone, I've got text msg withdrawals this morning. After 55 hrs of constant information and interfacing with the race crews, todays quiet seems strangely quiet. It cant be over, can it???
Thats whats so great about racing, there's always tomorrow, another race course, another green flag another challenge.
Keep the shinnnnny side up.

Johnny B here.... Wow. It was amazing to be up here in Seattle living our regular old lives, knowing what y'all were going through down south. These are memories that will last a lifetime and beyond.

Well done.

Except that you didn't finish the race.

But no biggie.
