Just got off the phone with Rod. He said that 1151 came into Baja Pits with an axle issue that the mechanics fixed without a problem. The 1151 chase crews got a few hours of napping in last eve. They are now in Vizcaino waiting to follow 1151 down the part of course that includes some highway miles coming out of Vizcaino. While the Yokohama tires on 1151 are holding up great (no flats), the chase truck which is carrying the mechanics has flatted several times. They bent a wheel, which Rod tried to hammer back in place, and cracked in the process. So, Dave is in Loreto looking for a replacement wheel and a new spare tire for the chase truck- since they now are driving with no spare. All sound like they have good energy and good attitudes though :)
